Rwanda is prepared to defend its territorial integrity in the face of any invasion, according to Dr Vincent Biruta, the country’s Minister of Foreign Affairs. Biruta made the statement in parliament on January 26, following a recent incident in which a warplane from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) violated Rwanda’s airspace for the third time in three months. Biruta also accused the DRC of trying to draw Rwanda into the ongoing conflict between Congolese armed forces and the M23 rebel group in North Kivu province. The DRC has accused Rwanda of supporting the M23, but Biruta denied these allegations and stated that Kinshasa continues to arm the FDLR
