NANYUKI, Kenya — A post-mortem examination has revealed that a 19-year-old protester in Nanyuki died from a single gunshot wound during anti-government demonstrations.

The autopsy, conducted at a local hospital, showed the bullet entered through the chest, causing fatal injuries. The findings contradict earlier reports suggesting the teen died from other causes.

Human rights organizations have called for an independent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting, demanding accountability for the use of lethal force against unarmed protesters.
